It is all connected: the crappy economy, lagging educational performance, declining place on the world stage, increasing crime...etc.
Can you solve the problem?

Where is the Majority
Do you feel it? Can you feel the tide turning? We are leaning towards an America that expects it's government to give them something. As the old saying goes, when the majority of people understand that they can vote their way to taking more and more from the government, blah, blah, blah.
That is the thought that will lead us down the path to second tier status as a socialist nation.
McCain clearly is a disappointment as a Republican. But Obama will be a disaster. We need to demand more from our two major parties when placing names in for nomination. These two are hardly the best we have to offer.

Bailout Failure
So the big players played the American public like a fiddle. Reject the first pass at a bailout, send the market down so people see some of there investments decline, then all of a sudden the claim the people are for the bailout.
Take the previous version of a bad bill, fatten it up by a couple hundred billion for you pet projects, and then pass it. Unconscionable. Really, they all need to go.
We are headed for financial disaster. We cannot reign in spending, the big money players keep taking our money through pork. Our kids will not have it better than we do.
We need a revolution.

Debate-Deflate
Again America, what do you want? What do you expect? For YEARS, our politicians have told us what to expect from a politician. A politician needs to be stately, knowledgeable and privileged. A politician knows many things, most all of which are far too complicated for you to understand.
Joe Biden came across as who he is: a career politician, the consummate Washington insider. He knows things, don't worry about the details, your head will hurt.
Sarah Palin came across as who she is: a Washington outsider, a political rookie who crammed for this debate. She could only stammer through a couple of facts that seemed to be anticipated by the Biden team and were easily refuted. Whether or not they were refuted factually or not is beside the point. The viewers saw them refuted.
Why does America need a politician as President? Politicians are creatures who have been conditioned by a system to self preserve. They make decisions based on self preservation, not the country's best interest. America needs a leader. Someone they can trust. Leaders don't have all the answers, particularly specific answers to specific questions in a 90 second format.
Leaders assemble great people with specific skills around them. They encourage spirited debate among these great minds. They sort through the options and then based on core principles make decisions.
We need to quit expecting that any one person will have answers. Anyone who claims to be an expert on the economy, world relations, military exercises, NASA, etc...should scare the hell out of you! This person thinks they already have the answers and don't need others input!
We have a crappy choice this year. A sad statement from such a great country. These are the two best people we can find for the job? God Bless Us All....

The Gift That Keeps On Giving
I think most all would agree that some sort of bailout, oops, rescue is necessary for the banking system and therefore for all of us. What we need is to get back to the 3 page document that the Pres first sent to Congress. Yeah, maybe it needs some additional oversight, but overall it addressed the problem, and only the problem.
Once the House got a hold of it, it blossomed to a mere 110 page document, beginning to be weighted down by additional spending.
Then, holy crap, the Senate took it and it ballooned to over 400 pages! Imagine all the extra spending that has been tagged on now!
And the American public got a bit of a jolt from a 777 point drop and reportedly are clamoring at their leaders to pass something and do it now. Wow. Open checkbook for a crew of leaders who cannot help themselves. What's a few million buried in 400 plus pages tagged onto 700 Billion?
Get these bastards out and get them out now.
